Jeffrey Blumberg
Jeffrey Blumberg is a partner and a member of the firm's Corporate and Securities Group. His practice concentrates on representing and advising sponsors of unregistered investment funds (i.e., hedge funds), organized both in the United States and offshore, with a particular focus on issues relating to investment advisors, broker-dealers, commodity trading advisors and commodity pool operators. He also counsels clients on regulatory, organizational, structural and business matters. Jeffrey has been a guest lecturer at Northwestern School of Law and has been a speaker at industry conferences on hedge funds and registered investment advisors topics. In 2007, Jeffrey was named one of "40 Illinois Lawyers Under 40 to Watch" by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company.

Jeffrey received his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, with high honors, in 2000 where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. He received his B.A. from Stanford University in 1991. Prior to joining FHSLC, Jeffrey was a partner at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP. Prior to joining Drinker Biddle, Jeffrey spent seven years working in the financial services industry with one of the largest independent insurance brokerages in the Chicagoland area. He was a registered principal for the firm's broker-dealer branch office and acted as the internal compliance officer for both the broker-dealer branch office and the firm's wholly-owned investment advisor.

Sarah J. Risken
We are pleased to announce the addition of Sarah J. Risken. Sarah joins the firm as an associate in the real estate practice group. Since 2007, Sarah has been a real estate and bankruptcy associate at Goldberg Kohn in Chicago.

Sarah received her J.D. in 2007 from the University of Chicago Law School. She received her B.S., conferred with distinction, in 2002 from Stanford University.
