Peg Anderson co-chairs the Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights Group at Fox, Hefter, Swibel, Levin & Carroll, LLP.  She has represented secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy cases and out-of-court restructurings throughout the country.  Her clients include numerous lending institutions.  Ms. Anderson has experience advising buyers and sellers of assets of troubled companies.  She also represents bankruptcy trustees, debtors and assignees for the benefit of creditors.

In addition, Peg has extensive experience advising insurance companies in bankruptcy cases, frequently representing insurance companies in the collection of premium, deductibles, and other amounts owed to them by insolvent companies.  Ms. Anderson also counsels insurers with respect to the handling of covered claims when their insureds are in bankruptcy.

Peg received a B.A. in accounting, maxima cum laude, from Loras College in 1976, and her J.D. from Yale Law School in 1980.  Prior to joining Fox, Hefter, Swibel, Levin & Carroll, LLP, she was a partner at Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell, LLP.  She is admitted to practice in Illinois and Texas.

In 2012, 2011 and 2010, Peg was named to the list of Illinois Super Lawyers. Peg was also named to the list of Illinois Super Lawyers 2012 Top 50 Women. The selections for these lists are made by the research team at Super Lawyers, a service of the Thomson Reuters, Legal Division.
