Daniel S. Hefter

Dan is a capital partner practicing in the area of business litigation. His cases have spanned a broad spectrum of areas of the law including, among others, contracts, fraud, insurance coverage, real estate, intellectual property, banking, trusts, financial services, securities, professional liability, partnership, defamation and privacy, post-employment restrictive covenants, estate litigation, corporate governance, and fiduciary duties of corporate officers, directors and majority shareholders.

Dan has tried cases to judges and to juries, and has argued successfully in the Illinois Supreme Court and in state and federal intermediate appellate courts.

Dan received his B.A. from the University of Illinois in 1977. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan in 1980. Prior to joining FHSLC, Dan was an associate at Isham, Lincoln & Beale, a highly respected Chicago law firm founded in the 1800s by, among others, Robert Todd Lincoln. He then became a partner at Isham, Lincoln & Beale in 1987 and formed his own firm when Isham, Lincoln & Beale disbanded.

Dan is FHSLC’s Co-Managing Partner.
